Behavior Support Services
As a Behavior Technician, you will play a key role at NDAC helping individuals with autism reach their full potential through excellence in care, therapy, advocacy, and support. You will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will be responsible for implementing behavioral intervention techniques to help reduce problematic behaviors and increase desirable replacement behaviors. You will utilize incidental and natural environment teaching, facilitating communication and generalization of the skills clients learn. Daily activities will include helping clients with academic programs to target skills such as following directions, sorting, matching, gross and fine motor skills, language skills, and social skills programs such as taking turns and conversation skills between peers.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to run, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
Position Requirements:
- Must be able to provide care to energetic individuals for multiple hours.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
- Must have cleared and approved criminal record check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have legal status in the U.S.
Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Obtained or Obtaining a degree in psychology, social work, counseling, child development/family sciences, sociology, special education or other human service fields (strongly recommended)
