We were incorporated in North Dakota in December 2006, and formed the North Dakota Autism Center (NDAC) Board of Directors. The NDAC received 501(c) (3) [non-profit] status in mid-June, 2007. We hold monthly board meetings, which is where we generate ideas, work on steps to establish the NDAC, and plan for upcoming events.

  • The 2nd ND Golf 4 Autism, at Bully Pulpit in Medora, ND was held on Sunday, Sept 20, 2009.We had a fun filled day! Thanks again to the wonderful organizer & coordinator, Nick Gates!
  • We had another fun event! The Walk & Ride for Autism 2009, on Sat, June 13th, was AuSome.
  • Our first day was Monday, November 17, 2008! Everyone had a wonderful time.
  • The NDAC held a very successful Walk for Autism on May 3rd, 2008 in Lindenwood Park.

Something to think about...

  • 1 in every 150 children have a form of autism
  • Boys are 4 times as likely to be diagnosed on the spectrum
  • A new case is diagnosed every 20 minutes
  • 67 people will be diagnosed TODAY
This means with North Dakota's population at 633,837...
...there are roughly 4,225 people, just in ND, who may be on the spectrum.

Early intervention is a key element

for children on the autism spectrum.

Although, it is important to know

that it is never 'too late' for intervention.

"If a child can't learn in the way that we teach, then we must teach in a way he [or she] can learn." ~ Ivar Lovaas, Ph.D
