The AuSome Kids Day Program
The AuSome Kids Day Program is a center-based child care program for preschool and school age children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and similar disabilities. The program offers options for full-day, half-day, after school and summer enrollment. The NDAC staff is trained to use positive reinforcement, prompting and social stories to assist in the development of communication skills, appropriate play skills, social interaction skills, academic skills, and self-help skills as well as the reduction of challenging behaviors. With a one staff to three client ratio, staff is able to prompt, follow through, and assist the children more readily than other child care facilities. Children follow a daily lesson plan and curriculum designed specifically for children with ASD to help reduce stress and promote effective learning. The curriculum consists of circle time, center time (play games or play with a preferred toy), gross motor time, music, snack time, art etc.
The AuSome Kids 1:1 Early Intervention Program
The AuSome Kids Early Intervention Program is a personalized program for children with autism spectrum disorders. The program is a structured approach to education that employs a variety of effective teaching strategies in a supportive learning environment to help encourage and nurture children with ASD. The curriculum addresses core deficit areas of children with ASD (e.g., communication, social skills, self help skills, academic difficulties and problem behaviors) while considering the developmental level of each child. The program capitalizes on each child's individual needs while using schedules, positive reinforcement, prompting, and using the natural environment to enhance learning. Children in the 1:1 early intervention program often participate in the activities of the day program as well with their 1:1 staff person who ensures they are participating at the appropriate level and prompting when necessary.
All programs are under the supervision of Crystal Ringenberg, M.S., who is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Program Director, Crystal Ringenberg M.S., BCBA
